There are multiple ways to reach the islands. Below are the main options.

Recommended Way of Transport

If you are not driving to the race and arrive by plane, we advise flying to Zagreb. From there, you can take a direct bus from Zagreb’s main bus station to Mali Lošinj.

By Plane:

If you are arriving by plane, there are several airports to consider:

Rijeka Airport (Island of Krk), 102 km from Mali Lošinj
Pula Airport (Istria), 129 km from Mali Lošinj
Zagreb Airport, 269 km from Mali Lošinj
Zadar Airport, 386 km from Mali Lošinj
Trieste Airport (Italy), 221 km from Mali Lošinj
Ljubljana Airport (Slovenia), 245 km from Mali Lošinj

From the airport, you will need to continue your journey by car, bus, or catamaran. Zagreb is the largest airport in Croatia, offering many EU and international flights. Other airports are smaller, and most of the flights are seasonal.

By Car:

If you choose to drive, note that your trip will include a ferry crossing from the mainland to the island. Options include:

Ferry from Valbiska (Krk) to Merag (Cres)
Ferry from Brestova (Istria) to Porozina (Cres)
Ferry from Zadar (Gaženica) to Mali Lošinj (Lošinj) – limited departures during weekdays, no departures during weekends

By Bus (including ferry crossing):

From Zagreb: Buses depart from Zagreb’s main bus station to Mali Lošinj. The journey covers approximately 285 km and takes about 6 hours and 30 minutes.
From Rijeka: Buses depart from Rijeka’s main bus station to Mali Lošinj, covering approximately 133 km in about 3 hours and 30 minutes.
From Pula: Buses depart from Pula’s main bus station to Mali Lošinj, covering approximately 236 km in about 6 hours.
From Omišalj: Buses depart from Omišalj’s main bus station to Mali Lošinj, covering approximately 99 km in about 2 hours and 40 minutes.
